World capital of technological innovation

Silicon Valley Start-Up Culture: History, Principles, and the Power of Weak Networks is a two-hour master class on what it takes to survive and thrive in a world capital of technological innovation.

The presentation includes an examination of the rise of Silicon Valley, tracing its agricultural origins as the "Valley of the Hearts Delight" through its deployment as an American response to the Cold War to its ascendency as the birthplace of the internet and social networking.

The class then examines cultural principles that make Silicon Valley such a unique place to live and work, and tackles some of the myths and unexpected truths of American business culture.

How to apply Silicon Valley Principles in Jyväskylä?

Participants then get an insider's look at the workings of Silicon Valley's most influential companies: Apple, Google, and Facebook. Analyzing their beginnings, learning from their visionary leaders, and considering their newest innovations, this class will conclude with questions about the possibilities of applying Silicon Valley Startup Principles here in Jyväskylä, Finland.
