Conference: Cyber security in the healthcare sector

The European Cyber Security Organisation ECSO and JYVSECTEC – Jyväskylä Security Technology organizes Cyber security in the healthcare sector conference together with the Regional Council of Central Finland and West Finland European Office, under Finland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Conference is part of the Healthcare Cyber Range project.

The conference addresses issues such as

  • Healthcare, Cyberwarfare and the National Security Challenge

  • Recovery and lessons learned from a cyber-attack on a hospital

  • Preparedness towards cyber security challenges

  • Simultaneous building of the hospital, novel processes and cyber resilience

  • Awareness-raising and development of cyber security competences in Healthcare Cyber Range (HCCR)

  • Cyber security training and exercises in realistic environments

  • Role and activities of ECSO in improving the European cyber resilience in healthcare

Healthcare Cyber Range (HCCR)

Healthcare Cyber Range (HCCR) project expands JYVSECTEC’s and RGCE’s (Realistic Global Cyber Range) capacity and capabilities to serve digital healthcare actors to exercise in simulation environment and develops Finnish digital healthcare cyber security knowhow and expertise, and pilots HCCR cyber range in a cyber exercise. HCCR partners include Finnish University Hospitals HUS and TAYS, healthcare districts KSSHP and PHHYKY, basic healthcare unit (Saarikka), The National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), The Social Insurance Institution of Finland (KELA),  National Cyber Security Centre NCSC-FI, National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA), State owned company SOTEDIGI, and private companies RDVELHO and Telia Finland. Program is funded by the partners and European Union Regional Development Fund, Leverage from the EU 2014-2020 program, Regional Council of Central Finland and Council of Tampere Region


JYVSECTEC – Jyväskylä Security Technology is a cyber security research, development and training center located in Jyväskylä, central Finland. JYVSECTEC is part of JAMK University of Applied Science's Institute of Information Technology. JYVSECTEC have planned and developed RGCE Cyber Range and operated it since 2011. RGCE acquired the status of Finland's National Cyber Range in 2013. JYVSECTEC is internationally recognized player in organizing, planning and running large-scale, multi-party cyber exercises and tailored trainings.
