The idea of these information cards is to complement the existing education material for forest management with good practices collected from forest owners. Furthermore, new forest management practices and measures suitable for self-directed forest owners are presented.
The target group for the cards are new and active forest owners willing to affect the management of their forests and to preserve important nature, culture and hiking sites during different forest operations. By using the calculating tool, the forest owners can estimate the time consumption and cots of the most common, manual forest management activities.
The idea of the cards is to give forest owners ideas of the activities, which can be carried out also on small forest estates and without major investments and skills. When working together, the family forestry practices can be passed on from tradition to tradition.
The calculating tool and the information cards were produced by the JAMK University of Applied Sciences as a part of the NEEFO “Network for Educated European Forest Owners” -project partly financed by the Erasmus+ -programme.
The tool and the cards are free to be downloaded, printed and distributer without modifications.
