Annual Report 2022

The year 2022 was defined by growth, but also by rising costs caused by Russia's military actions and a change in the general security situation in Europe. Among Jamk's areas of strength, the national and international importance of cyber security grew in particular. After the pandemic years, Jamk's research and development activities reached an all-time high. Jamk also took its first steps as part of the European University when it was accepted as a member of EUDRES.

Growth and Growth Pains

The outlook for 2022 was economic recovery after the pandemic. The growth of operations was indeed at a record high, but due to Russia's military actions, general costs rose as inflation accelerated and growth slowed down, writes Vesa Saarikoski.

Looking at the last year and the current year, we can proudly say that Jamk has a lot to give to the whole of Central Finland, writes Bella Forsgrén, Chair of Jamk's board.
