The NTNHackathon, aimed at students from fields related to bioeconomy, sought solutions to challenges in agriculture, forestry, and marine use. 19 students from seven European universities were selected to participate in the innovation competition, hackathon, developing solutions that were later presented in the pitching competition. The multidisciplinary teams combined bioeconomy expertise with IT skills. The winning solution focused on utilising fish sludge, a by-product of fish farming, as fertiliser to mitigate environmental impacts and costs. The event, commissioned by the Nordic Testbed Network, was organised by the Bioeconomy Institute of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with partners.
The event's more than 30 programme items also included information sessions and workshops, as well as meetings and networking opportunities for various networks. Some of the programme was organised by AgriVenture's event partners.
