The joint application period for degree programmes in Finnish ended on Wednesday 27.3. at 3 pm. Jamk University of Applied Sciences had a total of 1125 study places available in seven different fields.

According to preliminary data, there were a total of 11620 applicants to Jamk. There were 2714 primary applicants for bachelor's degrees and 552 for master's degrees. In terms of attraction figure, Jamk was the fourth most popular University of Applied Sciences: there were 2.90 primary applicants for each starting place.

This spring, the most attractive degree programmes can be found among blended programmes: the number of primary applicants for blended studies in ICT engineering was more than 11 times higher than the number of study places. The blended implementation of the Bachelor's degree in logistics, which has been among the most popular degree programmes for several years, was the second most popular this year: more than 9 applicants primarily applied for one position. The third highest number of primary applicants relative to the study places was for the blended studies in social services and the full-time studies of physiotherapist, both of which had 7 primary applicants per study place.

Management studies renewed

There were two significant reforms in management education included in Jamk's master's degrees this spring: the Master's degree in project management was opened for applications more widely than before for professionals in different fields. In addition, a multidisciplinary Master's Degree Programme in Management was opened as a new degree programme, which includes common parts in which management themes are discussed between experts from different fields.

Both Master's degree programmes focusing on management were well received in the joint application process: there were 336 primary applicants to the Degree Programme in Management, more than double the number of study places. Project management, on the other hand, attracted 141 priority applicants, almost three times as many as the number of study places.

All figures are preliminary and may be subject to minor changes in connection with the revision.

As a rule, students are admitted to UAS degree programmes on the basis of the matriculation examination, vocational upper secondary qualification or national UAS entrance examination. The results of the second joint application round in spring 2024 will be published no later than 4.7.2024. The national UAS entrance exam will be held on the campuses of universities of applied sciences between 27.–31.5.2024. More information on arranging the national UAS entrance exam can be found at ammattikorkeakouluun.fi (in Finnish).

Bachelor of Music Pedagogy (UAS) and Bachelor of Business Administration (UAS), Team Academy use their own entrance examinations. In the blended implementations of energy and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, ICT and rehabilitation counsellors, an entrance course is used instead of an entrance examination. More information about these admission methods can be found on Jamk's website: Application instructions for Finnish-language bachelor's degrees (in Finnish).
