Project description

The purpose of the AIRE - AI in Rehabilitation -project is to promote digital leap in the rehabilitation sector and to develop new types of digital rehabilitation services that support the rehabilitator's own active role.

Our main main goal in the AIRE project is to develop and pilot a digital rehabilitation platform and operating model based on conversational AI suitable for the field of rehabilitation.

Our target groups are:

Public and private sector actors providing rehabilitation services and their clients and also citizens using rehabilitation services, organisations developing teknologies and educational institutions

We have four work package in AIRE-project:

The first work package applies a descriptive literature review to build up a holistic understanding of the benefits and challenges of AI in the field of rehabilitation

The second work package is for developing and training a conversational AI for the identified rehabilitation
processes in collaboration with rehabilitation providers

The third work package, the piloting of the AI network will be carried out. Based on the piloting, the developed solution will be further modified.

The fourth work package runs throughout the entire development project, with a focus on project's
communication and dissemination activities.

Project has three concrete results:

  • A bot network that provides a platform for digital rehabilitation using conversational AI
  • An open source Proof of Concept that allows rehabilitation providers to adopt conversational AI solutions
  • A digital publication, including a detailed description of the possibilities and development process of conversational AI
