Required study certificates and documents of eligibility by country

You are eligible to apply for Bachelor’s level studies in Finland, in most cases, if you are eligible to apply for higher education in your home country (a foreign qualification that provides eligibility for higher education studies in that country). Please check also the language skill requirements of the higher education institution before you apply. Always check specific admission criteria of the study programme in question.

On this page, you can find eligibility requirements for the bachelor degree programmes and required study certificates and documents by country. These requirements concern the Jamk University of Applied Sciences' Bachelor's degree programmes.

  • We only accept degrees that provide general eligibility for higher education. For example, completing various placement tests does not meet the general eligibility requirements.
  • If the certificate is not in English, Finnish or Swedish, attach original certificate and its official translation. The official translation needs to have translator's signature and stamp. Please note that a translation without original certificate is not enough.
  • Provisional Certificate is not sufficient. We can accept it only if you have completed your degree in the same or previous calendar year.

Bangladesh

Higher Secondary Certificate Examination / Alim Examination

  • Copies: Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and Mark Sheet or Academic Transcript

Polytechnic Diploma (Diploma in Engineering) from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB)

  • Copies: Diploma in Engineering Examination and Mark Sheet or Academic Transcript

Cameroon

General Certificate of Education, Advanced level / GCE "A" -Level

  • at least 2-3 subjects (grades A-E = pass)

Baccalauréat de l'Enseignement Secondaire (grades 10-20)

China

Joint Academic Senior/Upper Middle School Graduation Examination / General Senior Middle School

  • Copies: The Senior Middle School Graduation Certificate, Certificate of Graduation/Diploma, Certificate of the Joint Academic Senior Middle School Graduation Examination and study transcript (school reports/academic record/student card/scores certificates).

If the certificate is not in English, Finnish or Swedish, attach its official translation. The official translation needs to have translator´s signature and stamp.

Estonia

Upper Secondary (general or vocational) Graduation Diploma (and transcript of study records): 

  • Copies: Gümnaasiumi lõputunnistus (and Riigieksamitunnistus) / Keskkooli lõputunnistus ( years 1991–1997) / Kutsekeskhariduse lõputunnistus / Kutseerihariduse lõputunnistus

India

    • If you do not have your Migration Certificate anymore, then upload a letter from the Board that you have been given it.

Nigeria

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) WAEC / Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) NECO /National Technical Certificate (NABTEB) / National Business Certificate (NABTEB) 

  • Copies: West African Senior School Certificate, Senior School Certificate. Not acceptable: slips, result cards.
  • Requirements: Senior School Certificate (Minimum score/requirement: Passed WASSCE / SSCE (min. 8 subjects from the fields given by WAEC / NECO) and credit passes (1–6) in 5 out 8 subjects including English Language).

 

National Diploma / Higher National Diploma

Pakistan

Higher Secondary School Certificate, Intermediate Certificate, Shahadatul Sanvia Khasa

  • 3 subjects with at least grade S
  • plus in the year 2000 and after: common general test marks min. 30 %.

Uganda

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education

  • Requirements: at least 2 principal passes 

UK

General Certificate of Education (GCE) A levels / AS Levels 

  • Cambridge International A levels / AS levels
  • Pearson Edexcel (International) A levels / AS levels 

Requirements and copies:  

  • Advanced Level (A levels) at least 2 subjects (A*-E grades = pass)
  • Advanced Subsidiary Level (AS levels) at least 4 subjects (A-E grades = pass)
  • Copies: Final Degree Certificate and the transcript of results/grades

 

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (= 2 A levels) / BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (= 3 A levels) 

  • Requirements: an average score of at least 60%
  • Copies: Final Degree Certificate and the transcript of results/grades

Ukraine

Certificate of complete general secondary education:

  • Svidotstvo pro zdobuttja povnoj zahalnoj serednjoj osviti - Свідоцтво про здобуття повної загальної середньої освіти (from the year 2019)
  • Atestat pro povnu zahalnu serednju osvitu - Атестат про повну загалну середню освiту (until year 2018) 

Copies: Diploma and the transcript of grades (Dodatok).

Vietnam

High School Graduation Diploma and transcript of study records:

  • Copies: Bang Tot Nghiep Trung Hoc Pho Thong and Hoc Ba Trung Hoc Pho Thong.
