  • You can activate as your JAMK Library card also your JAMKO student card or your Jyväskylä City Library (Keski Libraries) card or your Jyväskylä University Library card.

Overdue and unreturned loans, borrowing block

  • For overdue loans we send out overdue notices by email.
  • We collect fines on items that are returned or renewed after their due date.
  • If your course book loans, course book short loans, or reference book loans are late for 3 days, you will be blocked from borrowing.
  • If your other loans are late for 7 days, or your sheet music loans are late for 21 days, you will be blocked from borrowing.
  • The borrowing block is removed when you return all the overdue loans and pay all the overdue fines (5€ per item). If you have more than 50 euros on overdue fines, you will be blocked from borrowing. The block is removed when you pay the fines (50€ max).
  • For unreturned loans we will send an invoice approximately one month after the beginning of the borrowing block.
  • If you have lost your loaned items, you can compensate them by acquiring equivalent replacement copies or by paying a replacement fee. DVDs cannot be compensated with equivalent copies. For more information on replacement fees, see the section on the Library's service fees.

Interlibrary services

Please note: Interlibrary service is closed from 23 June to 6 August 2017

Interlibrary service is a borrowing and duplication service between libraries: we can order material not found at JAMK library or other local libraries from libraries elsewhere. Interlibrary services are subject to a charge.

Most Finnish libraries are open to the public. In addition to JAMK library, utilise also other libraries in the Jyväskylä area, such as Jyväskylä City Library (Keski Libraries) and Jyväskylä University Library.

Interlibrary service for library customers

Use the interlibrary service when the book or other publication you need cannot be found at JAMK library or any other local library, such as Jyväskylä University Library or Jyväskylä City Library (Keski Libraries).

Please place an interlibrary order at the Library’s customer service desk or fill in the online order form. Interlibrary orders are usually subject to a charge. The library sending the interlibrary loan determines the fees and loan periods, as well as other possible terms of use for the loan. The customer must comply with these loan terms and is responsible for all costs caused by lost or damaged loans.

Pick up your interlibrary loan at the library unit in which you made the interlibrary service request. Return the loan also to the same library unit.

JAMK library collaborates with TAMK library: interlibrary fees will not be collected between them.

Order an interlibrary loan by emailing us at kirjasto.kaukopalvelu@jamk.fi

Interlibrary service for libraries

Our Library sends out interlibrary loans and duplicates from our collection to other libraries and information services. To place a request, use the interlibrary service request form or send an email to kirjasto.kaukopalvelu@jamk.fi. Reference books, audio-visual material, movies and magazines cannot be requested via interlibrary service. Course books via interlibrary service will be sent to JAMK’s students only.

For domestic interlibrary service we charge 9 euros / item and interlibrary service for foreign libraries is 25 euros / item. Photocopies are 6 euros / article. Interlibrary service to JAMK’s students is 5 euros / item. Libraries can renew their interlibrary loans using their log in details to the National Repository Library.
