Among other positions, Lappalainen has previously worked as the General Manager of Fixteri Oy, a researcher at the University of Jyväskylä and a lecturer of marketing and entrepreneurship at Lahti University of Applied Sciences LAMK. She has also carried out marketing duties in the forest industry. Lappalainen has a strong background in bioeconomy know-how, and between 2012 and 2017, she served as a member of the Board of the Finnish Forest Centre.

– I find it especially important that we invest in corporate co-operation and internationality. The Institute of Bioeconomy already has a strong national and international corporate co-operation network, which is an excellent starting point for continuously developing the staff’s know-how, Lappalainen states.
