The strategy involved one significant change in JAMK’s areas of strength: tourism was named the second rising field to accompany automation and robotics. Tourism plays an increasingly significant role in the national economy and Central Finland.

In the future, the aim will be to focus especially on developing tourism businesses, responsible tourism and nature and well-being tourism. Tourism-related education, projects and service business activities will be developed further.

“JAMK already has extensive co-operation networks in the tourism field,” reminds Vice Rector Heikki Malinen.
