Work life is often characterised by hectic schedules, fragmented, and extensive information processing, all of which challenge recovery from work. Both employees and work communities need to plan recovery from work more consciously than before. This project develops a training method that helps workplaces address modern challenges to recovery by integrating the well-being effects of virtual nature and nearby nature into everyday work life and promoting recovery from work during leisure time.
With this training method, employees and work communities can plan recovery and address work practices that challenge recovery. The training method includes four steps: 1) the foundations of work, reasonable workload, and a functional work environment, 2) workplace rules and communication, 3) breaks during the workday and lifestyle, and 4) nearby nature and virtual nature experiences. Workplaces need to engage in discussions about how to apply these steps to their own work. The training method consists of research-based information, nature-based exercises, and examples that help integrate nature's wellbeing effects into the workday and recovery from work.
