Project description

Digitalization has strongly shaped the marketing work and skill requirements. A workforce equipped with relevant digital marketing skills is exactly what companies need in their growth and marketing efforts.

The main actions of the project were:
- Mapping of different digital marketing teaching methods in Finland and internationally
- Identifying opportunities and challenges related to existing marketing teaching models and small-scale piloting of the identified well-functioning new teaching models for digital marketing
- Creating a cooperation network that allows the perspective of both educational institutions and companies to be considered in the conceptual design of the learning environment
- Brainstorming of a digital marketing learning environment in a collaborative network, which enables the student to understand the overall picture of digital marketing as well as practice digital marketing tools
- Constructing of a new, digital marketing learning environment concept description and designing its impelmentation stages

As a result of the project, the interaction between education and working life has increased and will promote students' skills holistically, significantly strengthening the transition from education to working life. The next step after this project will be to implement this marketing learning environment, enabling learning in a whole new way in the rapidly changing and challenging field of digital marketing

Project results

The Fudix- project aimed to identify the best digital marketing education models in Finland and around the world. Subsequently, a collaborative network was established consisting of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), digital marketing agencies and educational institutions. Together, they developed a concept for a digital marketing learning environment.

The concept empahsizes experimental learning as an integral part of students' daily lives, alongside theoretical studies. This model adapts to the rapidly changing landscape of digital marketing by allowing the curriculum to be modified as needed. In the future, companies will also contribute to shaping the educational content. Additionally, teachers benefit from the support of a network of digital marketing experts, which simplifites their work.

SMEs provide employment opportunities for students, offer practical assignments and real data for courses, as well as provide internship positions. As a result of developing this concept through the projects, students' skills improve, enabling the digital marketing advancement of SMEs through various forms of student collaboration.

When more skilled workforce becomes available in the business sector, companies' competitiveness in global markets improves. The broader impact of the project on companies' operations will predominatly become evident after the project's completion.
