Joint application period for English-language degree programmes starts on 7 January 2026

The first joint application period for higher education institutions will start on Wednesday 7 January with the application process for foreign-language degree programmes. Jamk University of Applied Sciences offers seven Bachelor's degree programmes and six Master's degree programmes in English. The application period ends on 21 January 2026 at 3 pm.

The Bachelor's Degree programmes in the joint application in January are Automation and Robotics, Business Information Technology (Game Production), Information and Communication Technology, International Business, Nursing, Purchasing and Logistics Engineering, and Tourism Management.

Applications for English-language master's degrees are also open in January. This year, Jamk Master School offers six Master's degree programmes: Advanced Practice Nursing, Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Full Stack Software Development, International Business Management and Professional Project Management.

Needs in the field of cyber security have grown

This year, there are 60 study places available for the Master's Degree programme in Cyber Security, which is as many as double the number of places available last year. In working life, the demand for cyber security experts is constantly increasing, which has also been reflected in the number of applicants. In recent years, the number of applicants to the English-language degree programme has been more than 10 times higher than the number of study places.

"Cyber security has become one of the most critical areas of expertise in both the public and private sectors. The increasing prevalence of digitalisation, cloud services and IoT solutions increases information security risks, and organisations need more and more experts who master both technical solutions and comprehensive risk management," explains Jarmo Viinikanoja , Senior Lecturer at Jamk University of Applied Sciences.

The Cyber Security degree programme prepares students for demanding expert and development tasks that combine technical expertise, cyber security management models and knowledge of legislation.

"Graduates can work as information security experts, SOC analysts, information security managers or consultants, for example – in roles where they ensure the digital functionality and trust of organisations," says Viinikanoja.

Cyber security is also reflected in degree programmes focusing on business: the content of the Bachelor's International Business and Master's International Business Management degree programmes also shows an emphasis on cyber security.

Tuition fees for English-language degree programmes

The Finnish legislation on tuition fees obliges higher education institutions to charge tuition fees from students who do not have the citizenship of a country that is a member of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) or a document exempting them from tuition fees. The fee for Bachelor's Degrees is €10,000 per academic year and €12,000 per academic year for Master's Degrees.

Students liable to pay tuition fees can apply for a grant for tuition fees. In the case of Bachelor's Degrees, the scholarship is awarded after the first academic year at the earliest. The amount of the grant applied for after the first academic year is 4000 €. The second grant can be applied for after the second academic year. The amount of the second grant is 6000 €. The award of the grant is tied to the student's Finnish language skills. The scholarship is only awarded to attending students.

In Master's Degrees, the scholarship can be awarded if the studies are completed within the target time. The amount of the grant to be applied for is 4000 €.

The first joint application period ends on 21 January 2026 at 3 pm. You can only apply for English-language degree programmes in the 1st joint application process in January at www.studyinfo.fi. The studies will begin in autumn 2026.

The application period for the second joint application is 10–24 March 2026, when only Finnish-language degree programmes apply.
