The first Finland´s Report Card on physical activity for children and youth was published in 2014, and it has since been updated every four years. The next edition will be released in September 2026, alongside the Global Matrix 5.0, which includes participation from 71 countries or regions. The international Global Matrix 5.0 will be published in October 2026.
The Finland’s Report Card is coordinated by the Likes unit at Jamk University of Applied Sciences, with funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The specialist group for the Report Card was assembled and convened in August 2025. The group is chaired by Tuija Tammelin, Principal Researcher at Likes. The coordinator of the Report Card work is Researcher Katariina Kämppi. Chief Specialist Piritta Asunta is responsible for compiling results related to equity and inclusion.
From this point forward, the work will continue in smaller expert groups focused on specific themes. A new development includes plans to compile the data on a Power BI platform, in addition to publishing the Report Card both in print and online as part of Jamk’s publication series.
