Active school commutes passes from parents to children - article published in the European Journal of Public Health

Active school commuting is passed on from parents to children. Parents’ active school commutes were associated with their children's active commuting, especially during primary school age.

Lifestyle habits are often passed down from parents to their offspring.

Researchers Tuuli Suominen, Tuija Tammelin, Xiaolin Yang ja statistician Tuomas Kukko have contributed to writing the article Continuity of active commuting to school across two generations: the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study. The arcticle has published in the European Journal of Public Health. Researchers from the Universities of Jyväskylä and Turku have also written articles.
