Safety exercise at the Finnish Music Campus on Pitkäkatu 15 May

On Thursday 15 May, a joint safety exercise between Gradia, Jamk University of Applied Sciences and the authorities will be carried out at the Finnish Music Campus in Jyväskylä.

Practical training is a normal part of the activities of educational institutions. Safety walks, exit drills and indoor shelter exercises are normal, everyday practice at the Music Campus and throughout Gradia.

This time, the exercise is a more extensive joint implementation of Gradia, Jamk and the authorities. In addition to educational institutions, the participants include the police, rescue department, emergency medical services, Central Finland Social and Crisis Emergency Services and rescue services. In addition to internships at educational institutions, this time a particularly important part is the mutual practical training between authorities and educational institutions.

The exercise will also be clearly visible in the streetscape: vehicles from the police, rescue department and emergency medical services will be located on Pitkäkatu.

The rehearsal will affect normal teaching on the music campus for approximately two hours during the morning, and the activities of educational institutions will continue normally after the exercise. The exercise will not affect the operations of Gradia and Jamk's other campuses.

Markku Hutka from Osuuskunta Ryntötyö is responsible for the main planning of the exercise and the coordination of the exercise. The planning group includes representatives of educational institutions and authorities.
