Route studies are designed for you who aims to become a Business Information Technology degree student. There are 10 study places available, filled in enrollment order. Students who have completed Route studies 1 in autumn 2025, can continue to Route studies 2 for spring term 2026.

University-level studies require the following from the student:

- ability to define one’s own targets and a target-oriented approach
- self-management ability
- critical information seeking skills
- reflection/self-evaluation skills
- ability to express yourself fluently in writing
- presentation and interactive skills
- networking skills.

The route studies include first year Business Information Technology degree programme courses.
The courses include:
- Basics of Game Design, 5 cr
- Operating Systems, 3 cr
- Basics for Digital Media, 5 cr
- Game Engine, 5 cr
- Basics of Narrative, 3 cr
- Introduction to Game Graphics, 5 cr
- Me as a Student in Higher Education, 2 cr
- Information Seeking and Reporting, 1 cr.
The student is also recommended to include also language and communication studies and/or InnoFlash or Entrepreneurship in their study schedule. See the timetables of the courses by using the group code ZJAHTG25S1.

The route will begin with orientation week, starting 18.8.2025 at 9.00 Main Campus, Rajakatu 35, Jyväskylä. Participation in the orientation week is mandatory. Acceptance to studies requires a Finnish personal identity number and strong identification. Make a strong identification in the suomi.fi service or with HAKA credentials when You do the enrollment. Otherwise, you will need either a valid passport or an EU ID card with a chip (according to the ICAO 9303 E-MRTD standard). In this case, please contact help.jamk.fi
