Tailored testing services
We always tailor our testing services to meet your company’s specific needs and find the most suitable implementation method. The scope of testing, measurement methods, and level of reporting are always customised on a case-by-case basis. For example, we can carry out quick Proof-of-Concept tests or longer monitoring periods.
Authentic user settings
We conduct testing in versatile laboratories as well as in field, barn, and forest environments at the Bioeconomy Campus in Saarijärvi – in authentic user settings. End users of the products and students are involved in conducting the tests.
Our test plots are carefully instrumented with soil sensors installed at two different depths in various soil types. We monitor the microclimate using two weather stations located next to the plots, and we observe crop growth during the growing season with drone flights and on-field crop scouting. The test field has also been soil-mapped, and we maintain multi-year growing-season records.
We conduct tests in a free-stall barn housing 70 dairy cows, in collaboration with the POKE Vocational College.The barn used for testing represents an average Finnish robotic dairy barn in terms of size and equipment. It has been used for numerous cattle-related research projects. The barn is staffed in two shifts by highly skilled stockpersons, ensuring continuous, hands-on animal care.
