The Jamk’s BERT project team is delighted to announce the completion of Jamk's Breaking Education Barriers: Inclusion, Rehabilitation, and Technology (BERT) project's first face-to-face workshop, which was held in Finland from arch 25-27, 2024, at the campuses of Jamk University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä.
The project was kicked off in February 2024 in Mozambique. Key Experts spent long days together creating common understanding on inclusive and practice orientated teacher education and defining activities for reaching this aim.
The Institute of Rehabilitation, Jamk University of Applied Sciences (Jamk), is working on and investing in transformative approach in addressing the global need for multidisciplinary rehabilitation services through the development of an AI in Rehabilitation (AIRe) platform. This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by leveraging digital innovation to improve health and well-being, ensure inclusive and equitable quality education, and foster partnership and innovation.
"How to improve the induction process so that interns and temporary workers entering a demanding environment would know better what to expect and be better prepared?", this was the assignment of Ykköskoti in the Working Life Project (former Future Factory project) last spring. A group of sociology students took up this important challenge and the end result was an orientation tool for Ykköskoti!
Elomatic's 10 experts delved into the circular economy, from a strategic level to practical implementation, in the jointly executed Bio- and Circular Economy Program by Elomatic and Jamk University of Applied Sciences.

The year 2023 has been harvest time in the project. Modules, study units and related materials as well as matters related to teaching practice have been developed.
On 25th May 2023, the key experts from UP and Finland travelled from Maputo to ISET - One World.
The aim of the programme was to support the continuous professional development of the key experts to deliver theory-practice balanced teacher education and to develop the quality and relevance of the teacher training programmes at UP Maputo and OW-ISET.
