The degree programmes in Information and Communication Technology at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences have been granted full six-year approvals from the international EUR-ACE accreditation assessment until 9 June 2029. The National Education Evaluation Centre (Karvi) made the approval on 7 June 2024. The degree programme in Information and Communication Technology has previously received a quality label, which is an indication of the quality of the competence provided by the degree programme as assessed by international standards.
The goal of the requested evaluations is to support the development of education and increase its international comparability for the degree programmes organised by Jamk's IT Institute. The accreditation assessment provides an external evaluation of the quality of the study offerings and whether the degree programme provides the knowledge and skills required in working life.
"EUR-ACE accreditation is a valuable recognition of the determined and high-quality work our staff has done to develop our education. EUR-ACE is widely recognised as a guarantee of quality, which shows that we also perform well in international comparisons. This was the second time we participated in the EUR-ACE accreditation for the degree in Information and Communication Technology. We recognise the value of the process and believe that we will continue to participate in the accreditation process in the coming years," says Tero Kokkonen, Director of Jamk's Institute of Information Technology.
Graduates from Jamk's Information and Communication Technology programmes find employment in various roles in the industry, and students have the opportunity to create networks in work-life-oriented projects during their studies. Through personalised study paths and specialisation studies, students can influence their graduation speed and the focus of their studies. Specialisation studies available to students include, among others, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
