3. Common oral diseases and symptoms

Objectives

The competence objective is that after the training:

- identify the client/patient's need for oral health services in different health conditions and client situations
- identify the main links between general health and oral health
- understand the importance of oral health as an important part of overall health
- be able to motivate the client/patient to seek oral health services in a reasoned manner
- be able to refer a client/patient for a dental check-up.

Implementation methods

Independent study in Moodle learning environment. Oral health is part of the health of the whole body and a good quality of life. A healthy mouth is a key prerequisite for well-being, because the same blood circulates in the mouth and heart. During the course, you will learn to identify the most important intersections between general health and oral health. This is important so that you can better guide your client to take care of their own well-being and motivate them to seek oral health services. At the same time, this is important knowledge also for your personal health.
