Content

The course covers the concepts and theory of Corporate Social Responsibility, including Strategic CSR Management, Ecological Responsibility, Social Responsibility, Economic Responsibility, Ethical Responsibility, Stakeholder Responsibility, and Sustainability Reporting and assessment.

Objectives

Corporate social responsibility in the management point of view has become even more significant in order to face the societal challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation and inequality. By implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s), organisations can respond to the challenges. CSR includes environmental, social, economic and stakeholder aspects.

CSR competence is a key element of modern business and organisations and taking it into account promotes the success of organisations, creates competitive advantage and wellbeing for people, environment, and society.
This course primarily supports the following Sustainable Development Goals: 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 16, 17

Responsibility management

Learning outcomes
You master the concepts and key theories of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility in different levels (from individual to global). You can critically evaluate, analyse, and apply theoretical knowledge in organizational development and strategic management, taking the goals of different stakeholders into account. You can analyze the importance of implementing corporate social responsibility for the wellbeing of employees, work communities and society considering also ethical responsibility. You are able to communicate and share your learning and competence with other students in a virtual environment.

Implementation methods

Study methods
Corporate Social Responsibility course is an online course. Your studies take place in the Moodle learning environment, where you will find course instructions, schedules, assignments and materials. There are no webinars in this course. You will enhance the learning from your student colleagues via discussion forum where you can discuss and share your findings with other students about responsibility issues.

Teachers are available and you can ask the questions regarding this course via FAQ. In the course, learning takes place flexibly according to your own schedule. You will conduct independent information retrieval and apply what you have learned in the assignments.

The study of the course begins by orientation to the course, the theoretical starting points of corporate social responsibility and the definition of the key concepts. During the first three weeks of the course, you will have an orientation assignment which confirms your participation in the course.

Guidance
Guidance takes place in the Moodle learning environment (question and answer forum).

Feedback
You will receive feedback from the teacher and peer-to-peer evaluations.
You will give feedback on the course (mid-term and final feedback on the implementation).
