ProInCa project, Promoting the Innovation Capacity of Higher Education in Nursing during Health Services’ Transition, strives for solving the defined problems in Kazakhstan nursing higher education institutions and nursing practice: lack of collaboration and knowledge sharing between the HEI’s, health service sector and international nursing research community; lack of capacity of HEI’s teaching staff teaching for evidence based nursing, nursing research and nursing management; absence of nursing research; undeveloped leadership in nursing.

The objective of the ProInCa project

The wider objective of the ProInCa project is to develop the sustainable innovation capacity of Kazakhstan’s Medical Universities for the modernization of nursing. This wider objective is divided into four specific objectives which are promoted by Development Work Package 2.1-2.4.

Specific objectives are:

  1. Development of mechanisms for collaboration and knowledge sharing between academic national and international nursing community and society.
  2. To learn from best practices on implementing evidence based nursing in nursing research, education and practice to promote the efficiency and quality of health care.
  3. Strengthen HEI`s role in building evidence based nursing research activities in health services to promote quality and safety of health care system.
  4. Promote capacity and system of nursing leadership and management in health care transition to improve the quality of health care system.

These four specific objectives address the four main problems of the Republic of Kazakhstan Medical Universities nursing education. Learning from the international good practices accelerates the development required for the reforms that are on progress in Kazakhstan. Improvement of collaborative structures of trinity of nursing education, research and clinical practice are the core of the innovation capacity needed for changes.

Significant results and long-term benefits are expected within the 3-year project:

 

  • Sustainable mechanisms for collaboration and knowledge sharing between national and international academic nursing community and society
  • Increased relevance of HEI nursing education for the labor market through the implementation of EBN
  • Strengthened role of Medical Universities in building evidence based nursing research activities in health services
  • Improved capacity and relevance for the labor market on nursing leadership and management in health care transition
  • New sustainable system of nursing leadership and management in health care with collaboration of HEI's and Health care facilities

Structure of the ProInCa project

Structure

Division of work of Partners is based on their area of interest and capacity.

 

  • JAMK University of Applied Sciences has responsibility of work packages WP 1 Preparation and WP 5 Management.
  • WP 2 is divided into four: WP2.1. Development of mechanisms for collaboration and knowledge sharing between academic national and international nursing community and society (HUAS, AMU). WP2.2. To learn from best practices on implementing evidence based nursing in nursing research, education and practice (ABFCH, SSMU). WP2.3. Strengthen HEI`s role in building evidence based nursing research activities in health services (JAMK, KSMU). WP2.4. Promote capacity and system of nursing leadership and management in health care transition through collaboration of HEI's and Health care facilities (LahtiUAS, WKSMU).
  • WP 3 Quality is a responsibility of LahtiUAS.
  • WP 4 Dissemination is a responsibility of NU (Nazarbayev University) in collaboration with all partners in order to confirm a sustainable and culture sensitive dissemination and implementation.
