Jyväskylä is located appr. 275km north from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. There are international flights to Helsinki (also from certain European destinations to Tampere and Turku), you may take a connecting flight to Jyväskylä or catch a train or a long distance bus (both appr. 3 hours). There are regular train/bus services from Helsinki, with reasonable rates, tickets can be purchased in advance online. Our tutors will meet you on your arrival provided that you’ll inform us about your travel plans in advance.

Public Transportation

Jyväskylä is a compact city and most of the places can be easily reached by walking or cycling. Special cycle paths must be followed when cycling and if there is no cycle path, the cyclist must use the roadway. Cycling is prohibited on the pavement unless there is a road sign showing it is also a cycle path. Jyväskylä’s cycle routes are marked on the Cycle Route-map that can be bought from Jyväskylä Region Tourist Office.
