Join our Summer School and learn creatively! International Summer School of creative learning will be organised by Teacher Education College of JAMK on 5 - 9 June 2017 in Jyväskylä.

In our Summer School you will explore and reflect creative learning, as well as increase your internationalization competences. We want to be flexible and open, so creativity can mean using arts in education, but also exploring new teaching/learning/counseling/guidance methods, ideas, concepts etc.

The student will gain ability to use creativity and creative methods in learning facilitation. He/she also reflects and improves skills to work in multicultural group. Learning methods are creative, participatory and action-based. Workshop instructors are mostly international.

Theme for 2017 will be Curiosity and Openness. Curiosity is central element in human beings and driving force for development. It makes us study, interact and learn about other people, new things and phenomenon. Open mind set promotes curiosity and enables us to achieve remarkable things. Not to forget physical and technological environments to which openness relates strongly.

Summer School programme (5 credits)

The assessment of the course is based on student's participation in contact sessions and successful completion of learning assignments. The programme consists of:

  • Orientation task in spring (1 cr)Visit our blog
  • Workshops and study visits during the summer school week (2 cr)
    Contact sessions: Monday to Friday every day at 09:00 to 17:00
  • Facilitating social, action-based and cultural programme (1 cr)
    Summer school students will facilitate the social programme in the evenings, max. until 21:00
  • Creative reflection (1 cr)
    Pictures, diary, video, blog texts etc. afterwards

How to Apply

For JAMK students the registration will be open in ASIO until March 31, 2017. The participants of international partners, please contact Summer School Secretary Henriikka Lahtinen, firstname.lastname@jamk.fi.

Administration Fees

For JAMK students and personnel and visiting academics participation is free of charge.
