Purchasing and Logistics Engineering

Content of entrance examination

The entrance examination in Finland will be held 8 April 2021 and it consists mathematics/science, SWOT and English language test. Applicant must score min 20/70 points. 

The entrance examination outside Finland (FINNIPS) in February-March 2021 consists mathematics, logical deduction, physics/chemistry and learning prerequisites. In addition, there will be a compulsory English language test for all applicants (pass/fail). Applicant must score min 10/40 points.

If you fail to reach the minimum point level in any of the examination parts, you will be disqualified from the entrance examination. 

The final content of entrance examination will be informed in the invitation letter.

SAT-test

You can be selected to Purchasing and Logistics Engineering with the SAT test without participating in an entrance exam. The official SAT result report must be ordered directly from the test organiser. The code for JAMK University of Applied Sciences is 6956. Reports printed or sent by the applicant him/herself are not acceptable.

JAMK UAS requires a minimum score of

  • 400 from Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and
  • 400 from Math.

Applicants are accepted in order of best points.

Only new SAT scores taken after 1 March 2016 are accepted. Please note that SAT Subject Tests are not accepted. The SAT test selection only takes into account the sections performed during a single session. JAMK UAS must receive your SAT score by 10 February 2021. The registration closes approximately one month before the test dates. Check registration deadlines on the SAT website.

 

Nursing

Content of entrance examination

The entrance examination in Finland will be held 6 April 2021 and it consists of the following sections: mathematics, a written part and a spoken part.

The entrance examination outside Finland (FINNIPS) in February-March 2021 consists basic mathematics (min 10/20 points), a written part (two essays, min 20/40 points) and a group discussion (min 10/30 points). The first essay is testing motivation. In the second essay there is written material (text) included. The applicant's language skills are evaluated based on both the written and the verbal part of the exam.

If you fail to reach the minimum point level in any of the examination parts, you will be disqualified from the entrance examination.

The final content of the entrance examination will be informed in the invitation letter.

Tourism Management

Content of entrance examination

The entrance examination in Finland will be held 7 April 2021 and it consists a group discussion (min 22/60 points), mathematical/logical thinking (min 14/40 points) and a essay based on the pre-reading material (min 14/40 points).

The entrance examination outside Finland (FINNIPS) in February-March 2021 consists of the following sections: an essay based on the pre-reading material (min 7/20 points), mathematical/logical thinking (min 7/20 points), and a group discussion (min 11/30 points).

International Business

Content of entrance examinations

The entrance examination in Finland will be held 9 April 2021 and it consists:

  • Spoken part (min 10/30 p)
  • Essay based on the reading material shared during the exam (min 10/30 p)
  • Multiple choise questions based on reading material shared during the exam (min 4/10 p) 
  • Mathematical/logical thinking (min 8/30 p)

The applicant's language skills are evaluated based on the both the written and the verbal part of the exam. The minimum points of the entire exam are 32/100 points.

The entrance examination outside Finland (FINNIPS) in February-March 2021 consists:

  • Essay (min 3/10 p)
  • Multiple choice questions (min 2/6 p)
  • Mathematical/logical thinking (min 2/8 p)
  • Group discussion (min 3/16 p)

The applicant's language skills are evaluated based on the both the essay and the verbal part of the exam. The minimum points of the entire exam are 10/40 points. There will be pre-reading material and it will be informed at this page before the entrance examinations.

Business Information Technology

Content of entrance examinations

The entrance examination in Finland will be held 13 April 2021 consists:

  • Group interview (min 16/30 points)
  • Multiple choice questions based on the pre-reading material (min 4/10 points)
  • Logical thinking multiple choice questions (min 16/40 points)

The applicant's language skills are evaluated based on both the written and the verbal part of the exam. The minimum points in the whole exam are 36/80 points.

The entrance examination outside Finland (FINNIPS) in February-March 2021 consists:

  • Group interview (min 8/15 points)
  • Multiple choice questions based on the pre-reading material (min 2/5 points)
  • Logical thinking multiple choice questions (min 8/20 points)

The applicant's language skills are evaluated based on both the written and the verbal part of the exam. The minimum points in the whole exam are 18/40 points.

Information and Communication Technology

Content of entrance examination

Students will be selected on the basis of the points awarded for an online course and interview. 

Applicant participates and completes an online course in English at JAMK's Open UAS, which is scored. The online course is part of degree programme's curriculum. 

The final deadline for enrolling for the online course at JAMK's Open UAS is  27 January 2021. The online course begins on 1 February 2021 and ends on 31 March 2021. After the online course maximum of 100 applicants will be invitated to the online interview based by score order. The interview will be implemented individually. The interview will be held on the week 16 (19 - 23 April 2021).

Total scoring:

  1. Online course maximum of 60 points (the course must be completed acceptably).
  2. Interview maximum of 40 points (min 20 points).

Alltogether maximum of 100 points.

 
 
Entrance Examinations Outside Finland
Spring 2021

The entrance examination can be taken either in Finland or outside Finland in one of the countries where FINNIPS organises them. 

Entrance Examinations Outside Finland during spring 2021

In Finland, the exam is free of charge. The exams in countries outside Finland are arranged in co-operation with local partner institutions that might charge a registration fee (0 - approximately 50€) to cover the administration costs. Applicant is responsible for covering their own costs related to the entrance examination for example traveling, accommodation, visa.

If you are invited to an examination, you will receive an invitation letter by email. The exams dates and locations for 2021 will be announced during 2020. More detailed information on place and date will be sent to the applicants in the invitation letter (email). Applicants will be invited to participate in an exam based on their choice they made in the application.

Choosing an entrance examination country at studyinfo.fi 2021

You have a possibility to choose the country in which you would like to complete the entrance examination. Thus, in the application form there is a question "in which country do you want to complete the entrance examination(s) organised by the FINNIPS network?".

Notice that based on your answer (you can choose only one option) you receive an invitation letter to this particular COUNTRY. You can change your exam country selection until 27 Jan 2021 by sending an email to your first-choice UAS Admission Services. After this date, the requests to change the country are not taken into consideration.

Please note that if you are planning to take the exam outside your own country of residence, you should check whether you need a visa to enter the exam country and whether visas are granted for exam purposes. It is the applicants’ own responsibility to take care of acquiring the required permits and it is recommended to do it before making other travel arrangements. Some embassies may have a general policy of not granting visas for entrance exam purposes.

Note, that all UAS' degree programmes are not members of the FINNIPS network. The list of co-operating degree programmes, FINNIPS network’s member UAS, and more information can be found at www.finnips.fi.

Selection Between Applicants with Equal Admission Scores

In cases of equal admission scores, JAMK's applicants will be ranked on the following grounds in the final selection:

  1. points awarded for the entrance examination

If the above mentioned criteria fail to produce a difference between tied applicants, they will be automatically ranked by a computerised lottery.
