Project description
VIRELOG is a joint consortium project of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Lapland UAS), South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), and JAMK University of Applied Sciences.
VIRELOG aims to strengthen the skills and expertise needed for the green transition in the logistics sector across Finland. The project develops shared training content, coaching models, and practical tools that help companies adopt energy-efficient, low-carbon, and sustainable operating practices.
Through the project, companies will gain support in improving their processes, increasing productivity, and enhancing both employee well-being and the smooth flow of everyday work. VIRELOG also creates practical operating models that businesses can directly apply in their own operations.
The project is implemented as a national collaboration between four universities of applied sciences, enabling tailored solutions for the diverse needs of maritime logistics, battery and technology industry logistics, Arctic logistics, and road transport logistics.
Development activities include company-driven workshops, coaching programmes, pilot projects, peer learning opportunities, and the creation of a digital learning environment. Together, these actions will support logistics companies in building a more sustainable, competitive, and future-ready sector.
