Projektin kuvaus

The HEVEN project helps Nepal improve technical and vocational education by focusing on the people who teach and lead it. The project supports vocational teachers, teacher educators, and education managers so they can teach better, use modern methods, and prepare students for real jobs. HEVEN is led by Nepali universities (Tribhuvan Univeristy (ccordinating), Kathmandu University and Nepal Open University) and supported by European partners from Finland (Jamk University of Applied Sciences) and the Netherlands (Saxion University of Applied Sciences).

A key activity of HEVEN is the creation of a new postgraduate certificate for vocational educators. This programme trains teachers in how to teach, not only in technical skills. It includes modern teaching methods, digital learning, assessment, and links to the labour market. The programme is offered through blended learning, so teachers from remote areas can study while continuing their work.

HEVEN also delivers training across Nepal for vocational teachers, teacher educators, and leaders. These trainings use practical manuals and real examples, and they are organised in all seven provinces. At the same time, the project improves digital learning systems, online libraries, and ICT support so that teachers and students can easily access high-quality learning materials.

In addition, HEVEN connects universities, policymakers, and employers through policy dialogues and applied research. This helps vocational education match labour market needs and supports better decision-making. By the end of the project, HEVEN leaves behind trained educators, strong institutions, modern learning tools, and long-term cooperation—helping vocational education in Nepal become more respected, effective, and inclusive.
