JAMK Turbine Fund Ltd is a subsidiary of Jamk that activates university-based innovation, entrepreneurship, and invests in growing companies owned by Jamk students, alumni, or staff members.
Support for Student Entrepreneurship
As a Jamk student, you can receive 300 € in support for student entrepreneurship from the Turbine Fund for starting your own company.
As a Jamk student, alumnus, or staff member, you can apply for Turbine microfunding €2,000 - €4,000). This financing can be used for product development as well as for starting and developing a business.
A prerequisite for this financing is that the applicant has completed or commits to completing the from Idea to Business-cource at the Business Factory or demonstrates equivalent knowledge in their business plan.
Funding is not automatically granted to all new businesses originating from Jamk. The funding particularly supports new innovations, and the funding decisions are based on the realism, novelty value, market value, and overall financing of the company.
In return for the microfunding, you agree to prepare a report on the development of your business idea with Turbine Microfinancing and grant Jamk permission to use the report in Jamk's communication and marketing. Half of the microfunding is provided after the financing decision is approved, and the other half is provided after the submission of the report.
Turbine Fund invests in growth-oriented limited liability companies owned by Jamk students, alumni, or staff members.
The company must have a business plan with sufficient financial forecasts. The business plan should also consider the principles of responsible business.
There are three investment categories:
5,000 € (in exchange for 10% ownership)
10,000 € (in exchange for 10% ownership)
30,000 € (Valuation on a case-by-case basis)
A prerequisite for an investment is that the company seeking investment secures at least double the funding from other sources.
