Researchers' Night at Jamk
Come and see, hear, and experience all the exciting things we do at Jamk! We are participating for the first time in the European science event Researchers' Night.

We will host two events at our main campus during Researchers' Night.
For the daytime event from 10:00 to 14:00, we invite a wide range of our working life partners to get to know our diverse research, development and innovation activities.
For the functional and experiential evening event from 15:00 to 22:00, we welcome everyone from babies to grandparents.
There will be multidisciplinary programming, such as exploring our functional environments, expert lectures, workshops and exhibitions. The event program will be continuously updated on this page.
Please note that photos and videos will be taken at the events for the use of Jamk University of Applied Sciences and Researchers' Night.
At the same time, Researchers' Night will also be celebrated at the University of Jyväskylä. Get to know the university’s Researchers' Night program.

Dialogue Skills in Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Multidisciplinary collaboration is part of everyday work for many professionals.
What factors support effective collaboration across disciplines?
What kind of interaction fosters cooperation?
We present findings from our research on dialogue skills that promote (multidisciplinary) collaboration, especially between educational institutions and Ohjaamo youth service centers.
Nature and Movement – Towards Shared Wellbeing
This workshop combines the wellbeing effects of nature with movement as a way to strengthen mental wellbeing.
It is based on methods developed in Jamk’s Luonnostaan toimiVa and MieliLiike projects, which emphasize experientiality, participation, and holistic wellbeing.
Participants will experience the calming effects of nature and take part in embodied exercises.
The workshop offers a low-threshold opportunity to pause, strengthen the connection to oneself and the environment, and boost everyday resources.
Target group: The workshop is suitable for everyone. No prior experience is required.
Horizon Therapy in the Archipelago with VR Glasses!
Dive into the landscapes of the Archipelago Sea National Park through virtual reality.
With VR glasses, you’ll experience a unique view of the interface between sea, trees, and sky — without needing to travel.
This activity point is based on Jamk’s Hybridiluonto project, which explored the effects of virtual and nearby nature visits on employees’ psychological and physiological recovery.
Through nature videos, you can experience the calming effects of nature — even in the middle of the city.

Game Encounter
Are you a student and interested in meeting people through gaming?
Are you a professional wondering how games could be used in teaching and guidance?
The project Pelaten taitoja opintoihin (Strengthening Study Skills Through Gaming) supports students’ study skills through community-based digital gaming and develops a new coaching model.
Come to the Game Encounter to play board games and try out digital games. No prior gaming experience is required.
Learn more about the project and upcoming skill coaching sessions.
Target group: Especially suitable for students in vocational secondary education and universities of applied sciences, as well as professionals working with students. However, the event is open to everyone.

Exoskeletons in Rescue Services
Rescuers are everyday heroes. But rescue work is demanding, and even heroes need help.
Today’s heroes—rescue professionals—can use external support structures like exoskeletons to reduce the physical strain of their demanding tasks. You're warmly invited to explore these workload-reducing exoskeletons at the ExoPELA project showcase!
The program includes exoskeleton demonstrations in rescue scenarios, and if you wish, you can also take part in a friendly exoskeleton dressing competition or a light-hearted quiz.
ExoPELA – Exoskeletons in Rescue Services is a joint initiative between Jamk University of Applied Sciences and the Central Uusimaa Rescue Department, funded by the Fire Protection Fund.

Community-based digital gaming supports the development of various skills, inclusion, and overall well-being.
Gaming can be a positive resource for children, families, and adults alike.
Drop by the Pelaten taitoja opintoihin project’s – Game Encounter alone, with a friend, or with your family – and join the conversation. You’re also welcome to play board games and digital games. No prior gaming experience is required.
Target group: Suitable for everyone.
Arrival and Parking
Our main campus is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. There are plenty of frame-locking and covered parking spaces reserved for cyclists. Local Linkki buses also stop right next to the main campus.
Visitors arriving by car can park in all parking spaces at the main campus, except for separately marked reserved heated pole spaces.
All parking spaces are subject to a fee, which is paid via the eParking app. Parking costs €2/hour. We recommend downloading the eParking app in advance. See the eParking instructions.
There are some heated and charging poles at the main campus, and their use is charged separately based on electricity consumption, at a rate of €0.25/kWh. The poles are operated via the eParking app.
