Pride Week Events at Jamk
7 September, 3:00–6:00 p.m. Play Together – Open Doors at GamePit Pro
Spend a relaxed afternoon enjoying games, community, and wellbeing. Come and play, hang out, or find new gaming friends, whether you're an experienced gamer or just getting started. You'll have access to GamePit's high-performance gaming computers and extensive game library.
The afternoon will be hosted by study psychologist Iina Salminen, who will be available for conversations about Pride-related topics or anything else on your mind. The Student Union of Jamk (JAMKO) will also be present, providing snacks to keep everyone's energy up for gaming.
Come as you are, whether to play, chat, or simply spend time together.
The event is open to students of Jamk and the University of Jyväskylä. Jamk's Safer Space Principles will be followed throughout the event. By participating, you agree to respect these principles.
8 September, 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Seta Information Booth, Rajakatu Campus, next to Restaurant Twist
Visit the Seta booth to meet a representative from Seta, create your own badge, and support Seta's work by purchasing an overall patch.
10 September, 10:15–11:45 a.m., Dynamo Auditorium, Lecture: Why Can't We Get Rid of Racism?
In her lecture, Sanna Ryynänen examines equality and discrimination through the lens of racism. Today's unequal practices developed as part of a colonial world order and are therefore interconnected. By looking at the history of racism, we can also better understand the history of other discriminatory structures.
The lecture is open to staff and students of Jamk and the University of Jyväskylä. Jamk's Safer Space Principles will be followed throughout the event. By participating, you agree to respect these principles.
11 September 2026, 2:00 p.m. uMove Fun Run
The uMove Fun Run invites students and staff of Jamk and the University of Jyväskylä to get moving together. Participants can enjoy a relaxed five-kilometre route by running, jogging, or walking at their own pace through beautiful lakeside scenery.
The event is free of charge and is part of the Finlandia Marathon programme.

Did you know that Jyväskylä Pride Week also includes a wide variety of events organized by other partners?
Take a look, for example, at the University of Jyväskylä's Pride Week programme, which is also open to members of the Jamk community. Jamk staff and students are warmly welcome to participate in all University of Jyväskylä Pride Week events.
You can find the full Pride Week programme on the Jyväskylä Seta website.
