Marek Juha

Marek Juha

"I am one of the co-funders and a statutory vice head of the Chamber of Social Entrepreneurships which has been active in the Czech Republic since 2014. The Chamber promotes and supports social responsibility and social entrepreneurship in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

The Chamber links non-governmental, public and private business sectors also with the aim to include people with SEND to social and working life. I co-authored booklets “Social Entrepreneurship in Practice” and “Inclusion of People with Schizophrenia to Social and Working Life”.

In 2008 – 2012, in the position of the chairman of the Committee for Education, Upbringing and Employability, I focused primarily at special VET colleges and foster care homes with the aim to enhance success of their students at the job market. I was one of co-authors and managers of the “We have a Job for You” (2013 – 2015) project carried out at the VET college and Practical School, Lomená 44 in Brno. The project’s aim was to create job positions (gardener, worker in manipulation, decorator, carpenter, brick-layer) for people with schizophrenia.

Since 2012 I have been promoting active employment policy and supported employees with SEND at job positions in the social entrepreneurship SIMEVA, s.r.o. and other companied joined in the group “…And we Have a Job for You”. Not only my professional but also personal experience led to my long-term interest in the success of people with SEND and at risk of social exclusion in employment. 
I would like to draw inspiration from foreign partner organizations and other SENEL project partners. I would also like to contribute with my experience to promoting and enhancing success of people with SEND at the job market. "

Pauliina Lampinen

Pauliina Lampinen

" I am Pauliina Lampinen, current executive director of Supporting Foundation for Children and Youth with Disabilities. One of our key  activities is to promote inclusive education and employment to the open labour market. We work closely with students with disabilities as well as employers, schools and various service providers such as job couching organisations. I have worked over 10 years in disability organizations and my field of expertise is in vocational rehabilitation, employment policies and supported employment."

Bernadette McLean

Bernadette McLean

Bernadette McLean is the Director of the Helen Arkell Centre – the largest and most prestigious dyslexia centre in England. Bernadette McLean is Principal at Helen Arkell. In the 1990s, Bernadette set up the Dyslexia Support Unit at the Roehampton Institute, (now University of Roehampton), and acted as the Co-ordinator for the next four years. Through the 90’s she continued as Head of Courses to develop Professional Courses at The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre.  She serves as an External Verifier for OCR (the Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examination Board) and is a member of the British Dyslexia Accreditation Board.  She regularly contributes to regional, national and international Conferences.

In September 2000 she was appointed Academic Director of Helen Arkell and she became the Principal of the Centre in 2006. Bernadette has served on the DfES working party, reviewing assessment of dyslexic students in Higher Education, contributed to a Dyslexia project for a number of local authorities, and co-authored two books for the Target Series for Teachers, published by Barrington Stoke. She serves as a member of SASC, the National Committee which promotes standards in assessment of Dyslexia and is a founder member of the Dyslexia SpLD Trust. In September 2009 she was appointed the Chief Verifier of SpLD courses for OCR. In 2010 she edited the BDA Handbook for 2010-11 and co-authored a chapter on professional training for Sage publishing company. Bernadette regularly lectures across the world, in the UK, Australia, Norway, Cyprus, South Africa and has recently edited two handbooks for the Learning Differences Convention in Australia. She has worked at Helen Arkell for many years as she is enthusiastic about the positive aspects of dyslexia promoted there.  She is keen to celebrate the All Kinds of Differences that dyslexic people exhibit.

Reetta Mietola

Reetta Mietola SENEL

"I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Department of Social Research, University of Helsinki. My previous research has focused on educational practices of special needs education in Finland and educational paths and transitions of students regarded as having special educational needs. 

Importance of the SENEL project lies in the way how the project makes apparent and tackles barriers which students with SEND face when transitioning from training to work. By offering support to employers, the project has potential for transforming dominant understandings concerning employability of students with SEND. At the same time the project will provide young people with SEND new resources for building understanding of their possibilities and rights in labour markets."

 Michael Shevlin

Michael Shevlin

Professor Michael Shevlin is Head of the School of Education at Trinity College, Dublin. Professor Shevlin has extensive experience in the field of SEN . 

Michael has been a lecturer in Inclusive Education, Trinity College Dublin since 1996. His teaching and research has focused on facilitating the inclusion of children and young people with special educational needs within mainstream schools, promoting the voice of marginalised people within decision making processes that affect their lives, and addressing access issues for young people with disabilities within compulsory and higher education. He, along with a number of colleagues, has completed a number of national studies including Study of Special Classes in mainstream schools (in association with ESRI team), Quali-TYDES project longitudinal study of lives of young people with disabilities (European Social Fund), Transition Experiences of Students with Disabilities into Further and Higher Education, and Project IRIS longitudinal study of special education in Ireland. Michael has been involved in a number of policy making initiatives within Irish education in relation to the development of inclusive learning environments in schools and higher education.

Robert Neuhauser  

Robert Neuhauser

Robert Neuhauser  is the head of the “Integrationsfachdienst Schwaben”  (IFD).

This specialist integration service is an well established service  throughout Germany (SGB 9, §109 ff). The IFD supports employers as well as employees. The main point is always to employ people with disabilities  in the labour market.

  1. The IFD supports young people with SEND in transition form school to the labour market through to individual vocational orientation and supported employment.
  2. The IFD supports unemployed people with disabilities in finding a job through individual coaching  and supported employment.
  3. The IFD provides support in searching an appropriate job for disabled people which are working in “particular” workshops (WfbM) through individual accompaniment and supported employment.
  4. The IFD supports disabled employees and their employers if problems will exist at work and a possible termination will be threatened.

We support approximately 1.300 people per year.

Furthermore we provided employment relationships for over 120 people and ensured over 180 job employments ( or avoided terminations of employments) in 2014.

Thomas Gehring

Thomas Gehring

In bin am 27. Juli 1958 in Gunzesried geboren. Dort lebe ich, nach einigen Jahren mit erstem Wohnsitz in München wieder: verheiratet und mit zwei Kindern.
Zur Schule gegangen bin ich in Gunzesried, Seifriedsberg, Sonthofen und Oberstdorf. Ich hatte bereits früh Interesse an Politik, war am Gymnasium Oberstdorf Schülersprecher und Mitarbeiter in der Schülerzeitung „Wecker.“ Nach einem Aufenthalt in den USA als Austauschschüler und schrieb ich 1979 mein Abitur.
Es folgte der Zivildienst im Krankenhaus Immenstadt – eine für meine persönliche Entwicklung wichtige Zeit.
Zum Studieren ging ich nachMünchen und machte damit bewusst den Schritt in die Großstadt.
Jobs bei Bosch am Fließband, in der Psychiatrischen Klinik und als Nachtportier im Hotel zeigten mir: nicht nur an der Universität kann man etwas lernen.

Nach dem Studium habe ich das Allgäu als Reporter beim Bayerischen Rundfunk „beackert“ und mich in die Tiefen der Bildungspolitik eingearbeitet. Als Autor von Glossen - seit Jahren Schreiber der „Schrägles“ – war ich selbst immer wieder überrascht, was einem alles einfallen kann, wenn es sein muss.
Als parlamentarischer Berater im Landtag von Baden-Württemberg konnte ich schließlich einen Blick hinter die Kulissen eines Parlamentes werfen und Politik aus der Nähe erleben.

Arbeiten in München bzw. Kempten und Leben im Allgäu - das bedeutet für mich u.a.: viele Bahnkilometer erfahren und alle Erklärungen für Verspätungen schon einmal gehört haben.

Seit Oktober 2008 bin ich Abgeordneter im Bayerischen Landtag, zunächst als Schulpolitischer Sprecher der Fraktion Bündnis 90/Die Grünen und Mitglied in den Ausschüssen für Bildung, Jugend u. Sport und Fragen des öffentlichen Dienstes. Nach der Wiederwahl im September 2013 wurde ich zum stellvertretenden Vorsitzenden und parlamentarischen Geschäftsführer meiner Fraktion gewählt, gleichzeitig bin ich seither bildungspolitscher Sprecher, Mitglied im Ausschuss für Bildung und Kultus, Mitglied im Ältestensrat und Mitglied des Parlamentarischen Beirats der Bayersichen Landeszentrale für politische Bildungsarbeit.

Andere Aktivitäten wie Joggen, in den Bergen herumsteigen und Musik machen – das ist für mich der Luxus, den ich als Ausgleich brauche.

Martina Markmann

Martina Markmann

Mein Name ist Martina Markmann und ich bin die Schwerbehindertenvertreterin des LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort.

Die Arbeit in der Hotellerie hat mir schon immer großen Spaß gemacht. Während meiner mehrjährigen Tätigkeit als Betriebsleiterin am Ammersee habe ich eine Weiterbildung zur Tourismusfachwirtin absolviert. 2008 folgte der Umzug nach Günzburg und der Wechsel zum LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort. Als Managerin bin ich im Feriendorf für ca. 200 Mitarbeiter zuständig.

Darüber hinaus vertrete ich im Rahmen meiner Funktion als Schwerbehindertenvertretung die Interessen schwerbehinderter Kollegen, betreue sie und unterstütze Bewerber beim Einstieg oder Wiedereinstieg ins Berufsleben.  

Jeder Bewerber ist einzigartig und braucht eine maßgeschneiderte Betreuung. Über die Jahre hat sich eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Integrationsfachdienst, der Agentur für Arbeit, Jobcenter und den Förderzentren der Region entwickelt. Gemeinsam haben wir bereits vielen Menschen den Weg in die Erwerbstätigkeit ermöglicht.

Ich liebe meine Arbeit, unsere internationalen und regionalen Gäste, die Vielfalt unter den Kollegen und die offene Unternehmenskultur, die die Integration vereinfacht. 

Begeisterung für die Sache und eine gute Portion Humor helfen auch in schwierigen Situationen motiviert zu bleiben.
