The aim of Innovative Village was to enhance service production in rural areas.
The project has piloted and evaluated methods for stimulating locally produced services in rural areas and searched for new solutions to organise services in target villages. The work has been done together with the rural communities where their service ideas have been developed and tested during the project.
While developing the new service in the village the project has also strengthened innovation skills, active citicenship and networks both nationally and internationally.
The transnational project started in October 2012 by a study tour and kick-off seminar in Northern Ireland. After that we have met in the Tartu Region in Estonia in May 2013, in the Jyväskylä Region in Central Finland in September 2013, and again in Northern Ireland in February-March 2014. The study tour hosted by LAG Viisari was held in Finland in May 2014. The common event 'Innovative Village Fair' got very good feedback.
The final study tour was organised in Tartu area, Southern Estonia, in 10.-13. September, 2014. The programme brought togehter the achievments of the project and produced ideas for the next transnational cooperation project.
The partners in Central Finland have made a video film. It was filmed during two days of the study programme hosted by JAMK University of Applied Sciences and LAG JyväsRiihi in May 2013.
The transnational cooperation project has ended in October 2014. The project partners have written a common project report in the form of a book together. The book has been written in all three project languages: English, Finnish and Estonian. It can be found in the Internet in www.issuu.com/innovative-village. The publication includes a lot of photos of the project.
