BioBoosters Demo Days Programme 2026

Welcome to the home of Circular Bioeconomy Business Accelerator BioBoosters – a vibrant environment for education, research, and innovation. In this hands-on demo days you'll learn more about the Tarvaala Bioeconomy Campus at the heart of Lake-Finland and see and hear concrete achievements from the BioBoosters activities. 
 

Day One -  Innovation, Insights & Live Demos | Field and Technology Demos | Day 2 - Farmer Perspectives in Practice | Accommodation & Transportation

Day One - Innovation, Insights & Live Demos

At day one you are invited to Tarvaala Bioeconomy Campus - the northernmost centre of expertise in smart bioeconomy and energy technology in Saarijärvi, Central Finland. We'll showcase some of the developments that the BioBoosters has enabled. 

The day concludes at the networking dinner in a nearby historical residence Ruustinna. 

13.00 - 13.45 | Welcome & Opening Keynote from Valtra: The Urgent Need for Agricultural Innovation

Overview for the event and introduction to Tarvaala Bioeconomy Campus and Smart Bioeconomy Testbed. 

A bigpicture keynote explores why the pace of innovation in agriculture must accelerate – and how ecosystems, clusters and collaboration can unlock the next wave of impact. Designed to spark reflection and dialogue about the future of agrifood systems. 

13.45 - 14.15 | Networking coffee

Network with the fellow participants over a warm cup of coffee and complementary snacks. 

14.15 – 16.45 | Demo Walk - Explore and Experience five demo stops

Explore and experience the five different technology and field demos at your own pace.

 

17.00 - 17.30 Ecosystem Exchange

A joint debrief on what was seen and heard. 

End of the official programme. For those leaving back to Jyväskylä, the bus leaves at 17.30 and for those joining the dinner, we'll take you to Ruustinna. From Ruustinna there's also bus transfer back to Jyväskylä at 20.00

18.00 – 20.30 | Networking Dinner and Evening Dialogue at Ruustinna

After the dinner transportation back to Jyväskylä or optional sauna experience by the lake at Ruustinna 

After the transportation to dinner, the evening continues with combination of high‑quality local food with a short, thought‑provoking discussion continuing the day’s conversations in a more informal setting. Enjoy an optional sauna experience by a lake at the end of the evening. 

Day 2: Farmer Perspectives in Practice

On the second day we'll visit a nearby HRV Farm, a modern and responsible dairy farm with around 600 cows and a 50-stall milking carousel. HRV Farm is one of Jamk's trusted collaboration partners, providing testing opportunities to many agritech innovation.

The day includes two different demo sessions, explored in two groups.

Demo 1: From Collaboration to Field Testing - Jari Valkola, CEO at HRV Farm

A guided tour in the HRV Farm’s cowshed and outdoor areas, introducing concrete examples of collaboration between farmers, technology providers and researchers.

DEMO 2: Farmer Perspectives on Data‑Driven Agriculture - Tero Lahti, Second Vice Chair of the Board at The Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK)

Farmer‑led insights into how data, digital tools and partnerships support everyday decision‑making. The session highlights customer needs, trust in technology, and practical value creation on a dairy farm.  

 

11.00–11.45 | Informal Lunch

Hot lunch served on site, providing space for continued discussion and questions with farmers and experts.

Accommodation and Transportation


Stay in Saarijärvi, a small beautiful rural village close to the event venue or in Jyväskylä, a bigger city with public transportation options from Helsinki, 60 km’s away from the venue. We recommend Ruustinna for those staying in Saarijärvi for the convenience and beautiful and authentic location. 

Those who stay in Jyväskylä, we provide bus transportation between to and from Jyväskylä on both days.
In Jyväskylä, the closest hotels for transportation are Hotel Verso, Sokos Hotel Alexandra, Solo Sokos Hotel Paviljonki, Scandic Jyväskylä Station, and Scandic Jyväskylä City.

Please note the accommodation is at your own expense.

Transportation Saarijärvi - Jyväskylä - Saarijärvi

For those staying in Jyväskylä we provide a bus transportation to and from Jyväskylä city center (place will be confirmed) to the event venues. The journey takes approximately one hour.

Please note the bus schedule is subject to changes according to any changes in the event schedule.

If you wish to travel on your own, please note the public transportation between Saarijärvi and Jyväskylä is limited.  Find the schedule from here and use Tarvaala to find the nearest bus stop.

Organisers

The demo days is organised by Circular and Business Accelerator BioBoosters as part of Finnish Future Farm project that is founded by European union. The event is also part of Nordic Testbed Network's 2026 Roadshow.
