In August, business accelerator BioBoosters launched an international innovation competition to discover new solutions to enable transparent data collection throughout the agri-food value chain.
In the challenge, Neste, the Bioboosters Hackathon challenge provider, is seeking diverse perspectives and collaboration opportunities with the focus on emission data reporting across the entire agri-food chain.
The call attracted applications from 7 countries from which six most promising solutions were selected to take part in the hackathon.
The selected teams offer a diverse range of innovative solutions to improve data transparency and GHG emission reporting across the agri-food value chain. Their approaches include precision farming platforms, sustainability data management tools, ESG and climate advisory services, AI-powered impact tracking, and open data frameworks—representing a broad spectrum of technological and strategic perspectives from across Europe.
Finalists for the Data transparency from farm to plate – BioBoosters hackathon powered by Neste are:
• Agri Solutions (Poland)
• Data Farm (Finland)
• EcoBio + Matter (Finland)
• Elvenite (Sweden)
• Impact OS (Finland)
• Open Carbon (Finland)
The competition kicked off with a webinar, marking the beginning of a six-week development phase. During this time, teams can refine their solutions supporting transparent collection, reporting, and analysis of fuel emission data.
The hackathon will culminate in a two-day event on 17 – 18 November. On the first day, teams will receive mentoring in areas such as business development, food value chain and ESG reporting. Based on this feedback, teams get to fine-tune their pitches one more time before presenting them to a jury the following day.
Applicants were scouted in collaboration with BioBoosters network, which has built strong international connections especially in Baltic Sea area as part of the BioBoosters – Boosting the Green Transition project.
