Join us for a fun-filled festival with togetherness. The opening of the 2026-2027 academic year will once again be celebrated in Back to Campus festival style! The event will take place on Thursday, August 27th at 13.00-16.00 in the courtyard of Jamk's main campus.
The event is open to Jamk students and staff.

Welcome to Jamk's own festival
Join us to celebrate the start of the academic year, enjoy the festival atmosphere, and have a pleasant time together. You can also explore the offerings of our partners, gather inspiration for your well-being, and get ready for the new academic year.
The event is organized in close cooperation with the student union JAMKO. The entire Jamk community has been challenged to JAMKO's KAJ rally and the students' evening continues at JAMKO's Kick Off event.
The event is alcohol-free. Rumor has it that it’s a great opportunity to collect the first overall patches of the autumn!
For all students and staff
The event is aimed at all Jamk staff and all degree, route and exchange students. The event area will be fenced off and protected from outsiders. Access to the event is through a few entrances.
How do I get in?
The event is free of charge and there is no need to register. You need to prove that you are a student or staff member of Jamk. More detailed instructions can be found on the Elmo intranet.
What to bring to the festival?
You may bring the following items into the event area:
- Mobile phone
- Laptop
- One unopened 0.5 litre plastic bottle of a non-alcoholic beverage
- Your fellow Jamk students and colleagues (the event is open to Jamk community members only)
Please note that backpacks and bags will be checked at the entrance.
The following items are not allowed in the event area:
- Glass bottles
- Alcohol or illegal substances
- Items that could be considered weapons, such as multi-tools or other weapons
- Umbrellas and camping/folding chairs
- Fireworks or other explosive items
- Banners or large signs
- Bicycles and scooters
- Drones and selfie sticks
This is an intoxicant-free event. Please also remember festival etiquette and help create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

KeKe - Sustainable and Responsible Jamk
Come hang out with Jamk’s sustainability crew – aka “Keke”! Drop by for a chat, play some games, and enjoy some Fairtrade snacks.
You’ll also get to check out the Kukkajäärät nature club’s autumn activities – and maybe even find some fun, community nature trips to join.
Esport Area and Skills through Gaming
GamePit Pro houses up to 18 ruggedly equipped PC stations, suitable for casual gaming as well as more intense tournaments. Jamk's very own gaming area also features PlayStations and VR headsets, which are freely available for use throughout the event.
Skills through Gaming
Digital gaming isn’t just fun – it can genuinely help develop study skills and boost motivation for learning. Join the Gaming Skills for Studies -project’s Game Meet Up to play, meet other students, and learn more about the skill coaching groups starting this autumn. You will find us at GamePit Pro. The groups combine gaming and study skill development in a relaxed yet goal-oriented way.
Sauna
For the first time in Back to Campus Festival history, you'll have the chance to experience a sauna! A mobile sauna trailer called Löylyfunktio, affectionately known as Läffä, will be located at the end of Wing A on the Rajakatu campus (access via doors D14).
Remember to bring your own towel and swimsuit. The sauna will be heated from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., so you can enjoy a relaxing sauna session even before the festival officially begins.

JR25 Sports Experiment Club
JR25 is an open club for everyone, organizing opportunities for its members to try different sports together based on their interests and enthusiasm. JR25 has arranged events for its members ranging from jogging sessions to Megazone trips. In addition to sports, the club also organizes lounge evenings that include board games and hanging out. The club’s communication in the WhatsApp group is in Finnish, but you are welcome to join the events even if you are not a native speaker.
Liikunnan Riemu
Liikunnan Riemu is the students’ own sports club in Jyväskylä, offering a wide range of activities – whether you want to participate casually or more goal-oriented. You are welcome to join as a hobbyist, a volunteer, or a member of an inclusive and supportive community.
The Active and Wellbeing Jyväskylä Higher Education Community
At the stand, you can test your putting skills with a disc golf basket and get tips on how to add more movement and wellbeing into your study day on campus. You’ll receive a wide range of information and practical tips for student wellbeing. You can also join the Wellbeing Coaching Programme, which covers topics such as stress management, recovery, sleep, and physical activity.
And remember to take a break from your studies – at least once every hour!

Jamk Tigers – the Best Ice Hockey Team at Jamk
Are you interested in joining as a player, a team member behind the scenes, or most importantly, as a fan? Come and get to know Jamk Tigers! You can test your skills in a precision game and ask all your burning questions about the upcoming hockey season.
Foosball Club
Do you enjoy the noblest of sports, table football? Foosball Club is a low-threshold club whose purpose is to provide a platform for arranging table football games. The club also aims to organize competitions in the sport. The language used in the club is English.
uMove Fun Run – the most fun fitness event of the autumn is here!
uMove Fun Run invites students and staff from Jamk and the University of Jyväskylä to get active together at Rantaraitti on 11 September 2026 from 14:00 to 16:00. The event is free of charge and part of the Finlandia Marathon. Come on your own or with friends, move at your own pace, and meet new people.
Prizes will be awarded for the best vibe, the fastest times, and the unit or organisation with the highest number of participants!
