The Institute of Rehabilitation is a centre for education, development and research in the field of multidisciplinary rehabilitation. We respond to changing societal needs by renewing rehabilitation and by producing expertise in the field of rehabilitation through education, continuous learning, research and development.

Research in multidisciplinary rehabilitation

Research carried out in the competence area of multidisciplinary rehabilitation is extensive and Interdisciplinary research. The focus of the research is on the development of new rehabilitation methods and operating models for rehabilitation and the evaluation of their effectiveness. The interdisciplinary nature of our research activities is highlighted when different disciplines, methods and professional groups meet.

The goal of our development projects is to widely renew and develop the approaches and competence of rehabilitation.

We educate nearly 200 solid experts in multidisciplinary rehabilitation each year. We also offer master’s degree studies, specialisation studies and diploma courses.

Our global work advances sustainable development and the most important international initiatives to develop the field of rehabilitation.
We are reforming and strengthening rehabilitation know-how to meet the changing national and international needs.

We have five expert groups: Digital rehabilitation and guidance, Older people's agency and home-based rehabilitation​, Work well-being and vocational rehabilitation, Active life and exercise rehabilitation and Service paths and client guidance.
