As a concrete result of the project, a study module on nature and climate knowhow will be developed. The study module will support attaining a comprehensive understanding of reducing the carbon emissions from soil and the possibilities of ecological compensation as well as the connected entrepreneurial opportunities. During the project, the study module will be rooted to practice as a part of the open studies provided by University of Jyväskylä and Jamk University of Applied Sciences, Institute of Bioeconomy. In addition, the project involves communication activities on the necessity of the nature and climate aware forest work especially in Central Finland.

Project is creating a foundation for a network of forest nature and climate competence in Central Finland. The project is a part of the set of measures for the land use sector - Catch the Carbon, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in spring 2020. The measures aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture and forestry and other land use and strengthen carbon sinks and stores. Familiarize yourself with the set of measures. The aim of the climate action package of the land use sector is to support agricultural producers, forest owners and other bodies that decide on land use in the development and implementation of new climate-resistant operating methods. Generating new information and implementing best practices in practical work play an important role here.
