Smart Bioeconomy Testbed

Speeding up innovation in bioeconomy

Test, try, and validate your technology in demanding Northern conditions. The Smart Bioeconomy Testbed in central Finland offers an ideal setting to demonstrate performance and refine your prototype into a market‑ready solution with strong market fit. Improve your chances of a successful launch or expansion into new markets across bioeconomy, smart agriculture, and bio‑based energy systems.

Test under harsh Nordic conditions. Ready for anywhere.

Welcome to the world’s northernmost smart agriculture competence hub, the Tarvaala Bioeconomy Campus. Located in Saarijärvi, Central Finland, it offers a versatile environment for research, testing, and product development.

Through a shared campus with Jamk Institute of Bioeconomy and POKE Vocational College, and close collaboration with local farms, you can test your solutions in everyday operations or in laboratory settings.

Field piloting gave us valuable practical insights into the different types of support required by users ranging from experienced professionals to students. We gained confirmation of the solution’s functionality, as well as important feedback and perspectives for further development.
