Innovation Camp
Harness collective intelligence to crack complex challenges!
Innovation camp brings experts from multiple fields together to create new solutions to strategic and societal challenges.
The task of the Rural Network is to promote cooperation among rural developers and support innovation activities. The innovation camp serves both goals as experts from various fields collaboratively explore solutions to the challenges of leased fields. During the intensive 24-hour session, issues were examined from multiple perspectives. Solution proposals were generated and will now be taken forward. The innovation camp was therefore a great success! Salla Ruuska, network coordinator at Baltic Sea Action Group
The 4-step process
The challenge is identified and formulated in collaboration with the camp's sponsor and Jamk. Participants are invited to the camp either by open invitation process or targeted outreach. The sponsor will evaluate and select promising ideas to be included in a joint innovation process to solve the challenge.
1) Formulating the challenge
Together with the sponsor, we help to define the scope of the assignment, formulate the challenge, and plan how to reach the right participants.
2) Announcing and marketing the challenge
The challenge is promoted across relevant networks and channels to find the problem-solvers.
3) Solving the challenge
The selected problem‑solvers are organised into multidisciplinary teams to leverage diverse skills and perspectives. With mentor support, teams develop and refine their ideas through a kick off and development work, culminating in an innovation camp.
At the end of the camp, the process highlights the solutions with the strongest potential for impact.
4) Solutions put into practice
After the camp the sponsor and the winning team continue the discussion on potential next steps
