Service design is an important part of developing a human-centred system.

The aim of service design is to better understand people, their daily lives, and their needs. Service design is used to create new functional, human-centred solutions and to identify potential service or business opportunities. The key idea behind service design is co-design, i.e. involving different stakeholders in the development of a new service.

Service Design approaches innovation and service development from both an intuitive and analytical perspective. The analytical approach involves logical reasoning, factual reasoning, customer research and data insights. Intuition is the ability and experience to see what is needed in the future, i.e. the ability to see what does not even exist yet.
