Escarda Technologies, Germany

Laser-based weeding is an excellent non-herbicide solution to weed control that will enable the production of organic certified products. Our goal is to develop a product that contributes to installing a new generation of farms with sustainable production systems.

Improvin, Sweden

Improvin provides a Sustainability Operating System that helps agri-food companies to measure, report and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity impact of their value chains at scale. 

Mavarick, Ireland

Mavarick’s AI-driven platform automates Scope 3 data collection, validation, reporting and analysis — so enterprises with complex supply chains can focus on sustainability, not admin. 

Quanscient, Finland

Quanscient develops Multiphysics simulation software utilizing quantum computing algorithms to improve simulation technology. Its Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) platform integrates a unique combination of cloud-native Multiphysics solvers, advanced cloud computing, and future quantum integration. 

Winterleap, Norway

We help farmers remove destructive pests and weeds, but we're doing it during winter when all conventional treatments are dormant. Our patented technology uses microwaves on frozen soil, demonstrating 60-80% effectiveness across three years of field trials.

Valtra and AGCO Power are part of the US-based AGCO Corporation, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery. 

Neste is the world’s leading producer of renewable diesel, enabling our customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. In this programme, Neste is interested in solutions to answer the growing need for reporting and decreasing gas emissions through the whole value chain. 

Lantmännen is an agricultural cooperative and one of Northern Europe’s leading players in agriculture, machinery, bioenergy, and food sectors. Lantmännen operates several test farms across the Nordics and offers testing and development opportunities to companies participating in the BioBoosters accelerator programme.

The Jamk Bioeconomy Institute's BioBoosters by Jamk is committed to advancing the growth of the bioeconomy sector and building collaborative networks. It offers office and laboratory space, as well as diverse testing and demonstration environments for bioeconomy and smart agriculture at the Bioeconomy Campus.

Microwaves, quantum physics and artificial intelligence - BioBoosters programme 2025 unites growth companies with industry leaders

Seven high-tech growth companies from Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Ireland came together for the first time at the joint kick-off day of the international BioBoosters programme, held on 27 August 2025 at Valtra’s premises in Suolahti.

Bioeconomy and agritech accelerator programme 2024

The international bioeconomy accelerator programme 2024 launched in cooperation with Innovestor. The programme aims to build cooperation between agritech and bioeconomy startups with leading industrial partners, investors and end users.

The programme is part of the Finnish Future Farm project, which aims to promote international collaboration and innovation through a startup and growth company community and accelerator ecosystem focused on smart agriculture.

The BioBoosters programme 2025 was implemented as part of the "Finnish Future Farm" project, co-funded by the the European Union, via Regional Council of Central Finland. In the “Finnish Future Farm” -project, a physical and virtual testbed environment and a center of expertise for testing, demonstrating and co-creating Smart Agriculture in Nordic conditions will be created at the Bioeconomy Campus in Saarijärvi, Central Finland. The main implementer of the project is Jamk University of Applied Sciences and co-partner is POKE Vocational College. The project is also supported by several top companies in the field, such as Valtra, AGCO Power and Neste, as well as the city of Saarijärvi.
