Projektin kuvaus

One-Stop Guidance Centres are low-threshold transdisciplinary service points for under 30-year-olds with a national objective to streamline young people's transitions to work and education or other activities, to promote young people's participation, functional capacity and life management as well as to bring service producers together as a multidisciplinary package.

During the past ten years determined efforts have been made to establish and develop OneStop Guidance Centres and their collaboration with public and third-sectors. However, the link between educational institutes and OSGCs still seems to vary regionally. On the one hand, the One-Stop Guidance Centres do not always reach young adults who have finished their studies or dropped out and who might have challenges in managing their everyday life. On the other hand, educational sector is not sufficiently familiar with One-Stop Guidance Centres and their services. It is essential to develop this collaboration between One-Stop Guidance Centres and education providers.

The objective of the ‘An ode to collaboration between One-Stop Guidance Centres and educational institutions' project is to strengthen and expand collaboration between education providers and One-Stop Guidance Centres. The project identifies under-represented groups at the interface between educational institutions and One-Stop Guidance Centres and develops operational and structural models and methods for supporting their studies and their participation and engagement in education.

The project develops and pilots joint practices and methods of education providers and OneStop Guidance Centres to reach under-represented groups. It reinforces collaboration to promote educational transitions, participation and engagement in education. During the project, guidance related to educational transitions will develop into systematic collaboration based on agreed practices.

An ode to collaboration between One-Stop Guidance Centres and educational institutions is a joint project between Jamk University of Applied Sciences (project manager Jaana Ahlqvist), Häme University of Applied Sciences (contact person Soili Rinne) and Åbo Akademi University (contact person Satu Laitila). It works closely with the JOPPI – Jatkuvan oppimisen Suomi (Finland of Continuous Learning) coordination project and the KEHA Centre's transdisciplinary services support team.
