Effects of physically active lifestyle on cognitive learning prerequisites throughout the lifespan

The multidisciplinary study called the Effects of physically active lifestyle on cognitive learning prerequisites throughout the lifespan is coordinated by Likes, Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences. This study aims to determine how physically active lifestyle is associated with cognitive, academic, and professional performance in different stages of life.

The study increases scientific understanding of the potential of physically active lifestyle to maintain, optimize and enhance cognitive prerequisites of learning throughout the lifespan.

The data from four large cohort populations is utilized to answer the research questions in collaboration with the University of Turku, the University of Jyväskylä and the international network of collaborators. The study is led by Principal Researcher Tuija Tammelin co-leaded by Senior Researcher Heidi Syväoja from Likes.
