Enrolling for the studies
Jamk Open UAS students always enrol for their studies on the website.
Enrolment for a study route student
If you have enrolled and been accepted as a Open University Route student, you will have the right to register for the courses included in the route studies in Peppi. In Peppi PLP, you can see the courses included in your route studies - register for these. In addition to these courses, you can enroll in other studies too, but we cannot guarantee access to these.
Completing a course
The first contact or the opening of an online course will cover the course implementation and assessment criteria. During the first contact, the date of the possible exam is also agreed, and the end of the course is announced, after which the assignments are no longer accepted.
Open UAS Studies have the same contents and assessment criteria as in degree studies. Course attainments will be assessed according to the normal practices of Jamk University of Applied Sciences.
You can follow your studies in Peppi. During the validity of your study right, you can also apply for an electronically certified transcript of records from Peppi's Atomi service (see instructions).

Ways of prior learning and experience: RPL procedure and accreditation in the Open UAS
If you are a route student in the Jamk Open UAS, recognition of informal learning can be identified and recognized on the basis of evidence. The skills thus identified are marked in Peppi as an assessment decision. This means you will get a completion mark, but not a credit transfer. In the Open UAS studies you cannot apply for credits based on your former university studies (inclusion and replacement).
In the route studies you cannot complete practical training, but your skills can be identified and recognized and you will get a completion mark for the training. Route students can apply for credits (replacement and inclusion) only at the degree stage. If the route studies include courses for which you plan to apply for credits later, you can choose other studies suitable for the degree during the route studies. Your teacher tutor will help you with the choices.
If you are doing a study module in the Jamk Open UAS, you can apply for credits for individual courses based on your former university studies completed at Jamk. Students completing study modules can also apply for recognition of informal learning.
Rules, principles and quality
In Jamk Open UAS Jamk's common rules and principles will be followed. Familiarize yourself with the degree regulations and pedagogical and ethical principles.
Jamk's quality management is based on a quality system where the student's role is central. You can influence the quality of teaching with the help of course feedback collected after each course. Jamk Open University of Applied Sciences students are also sent a feedback questionnaire every six months. By answering you can develop Jamk Open UAS activities in general. Get to know Jamk's quality work and the student's rights and responsibilities.
