Project description

The YHDESSÄ-project brings together persons working alone in the sports field in
municipalities, for which a group intervention that supports community and
develops well-being at work is planned and modeled. The developed half a year
group process is online and emphasizes the importance of social support.

The project
examines the participants' well-being at work and the effect and meaning of
group intervention through self-determination and social support theories. In
group interventions, the practices applied at the vocational teacher education
college on small group work online, are used. The result of the project is a
group management model that can be scaled to different industries where people
work alone (e.g. sole entrepreneurs) and work communities where employees
mainly work remotely.

The project
will be implemented between August 22 and December 2023.

The project
is realized as a collaboration between Haaga-Helia and Jyväskylä University of
Applied Sciences' school of professional teacher education and Suomen liikunnan
ammattilaiset association.

The project
is financed by the Finnish Labor Protection Fund and managed by Haaga-Helia
amk.
