JAMK Summer School brings an international atmosphere to JAMK

Once again, JAMK Summer School brings together students from across the globe. During the coming weeks, the campus area and Jyväskylä will be filled with an international buzz, guaranteed by the nearly 200 Summer School participants, numerous workshops and their activities, lectures, site visits and versatile programme of free-time activities. Degree students, exchange students and Open University of Applied Sciences students of JAMK will also be on board for the action.

The studies provided by JAMK generate interest even in far-away countries such as China, USA, Argentina and Mexico.  International teachers add variety and diversity to the implementation.

“In Jyväskylä, the students will mainly complete studies that are part of their degree back home,” says Specialist Minna Junttila from JAMK, who coordinates JAMK Summer School.

Summer School features studies at the main campus, in Lutakko and in the Tarvaala village of Saarijärvi; the Creativity and Communication in Responsible Business programme organised in June by the Business Administration unit attracts approximately one hundred participants. The workshops organised by the Teacher Education College focus on creative and solution-oriented thinking. The programmes by the School of Health and Social Studies include several action-based workshops. The theme of the Future Technologies programme by the School of Technology is bioenergy, and the studies are carried out on all three JAMK campuses.
