The first stage in the joint national university-polytechnic application process is starting

JAMK offers master’s degree studies in English for the first time in the form of full-time studies.

The application period for the joint national university-polytechnic application process starts on Tuesday, 9 January, on which date programmes offered in foreign languages will be open for applications. Go to www.studyinfo.fi to submit your application. The deadline for applications expires on 24 January at 3 pm.

JAMK University of Applied Sciences offers three English-language bachelor’s degree programmes in nursing, international logistics and international business.

For the first time this year, the study offerings include full-time Master’s studies in International Business Management. The programme provides adult students with an opportunity to pursue full-time master’s studies in an international group. A master’s degree from a university of applied sciences confers the same eligibility for a public office as a master’s degree completed in a university.

The purpose of the programme is to provide training for expert and managerial positions in the field of business. Admission to the programme can be applied by those who have completed a post-secondary degree from a relevant field and have at least three years’ experience in the field of business management or administration. Additionally, sufficient proficiency in the English language is a prerequisite for admission to the programme.

“We are inviting applications from adults who are seeking a new direction in their career and who perhaps have international work experience or are aspiring for a job in an international company. The degree is also perfectly suited to foreigners living in Finland on a permanent basis who already have a previous degree and work experience but no regular employment,” says Head of Department Minna-Maaria Hiekkataipale.

English-language programmes confer the same qualifications as the corresponding Finnish-language programmes.

One application round with two deadlines will be arranged this spring. The first application period (9–24 January 2018) is for submitting applications for foreign-language bachelor’s programmes and the second application period (14–28 March 2018) for programmes offered in Finnish and English.  The Master’s Programme in International Business Management is only open for applications in January.

New legislation concerning tuition fees came into effect in Finland two years ago. It obligates JAMK as well to charge tuition fees from students who are not citizens of a Member State of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA). The tuition fees of JAMK University of Applied Sciences are €8,000/academic year for bachelor’s degrees and €9,000/academic year for master's degrees.  All students who are obligated to pay tuition fees will be awarded a 50% grant for the first academic year. From the second academic year onwards, the students will be entitled to a 50% grant if they have made progress in their studies in line with the targets.
