The first stage in the joint national university-polytechnic application process has ended: JAMK is globally interesting

The application period to the English-language degree programmes of the JAMK University of Applied Sciences ended today at 3 pm. The English-language bachelor’s degrees open for application were in Nursing, International Logistics and International Business. In addition, for the first time this year, the study offerings included full-time master’s studies in International Business Management with foreigners living in Finland with a previous degree and work experience as their main target group.

JAMK was the primary choice in approximately 616 applications. People from India, Nepal and Russia, among other countries, are interested in JAMK. Despite the tuition fees, most of the applications came from outside the EU/EEA countries.

The degree programme in International Business was the most popular application target. The preliminary total number of primary applicants was 303, while the number of study places is 50. The number of applicants increased from the previous year.

A total of 189 applicants applied for the 30 study places open in the Degree Programme in Nursing. The 20 study places open in the Degree Programme in International Logistics were applied for by 72 first-preference applicants. There were 52 applicants for the master’s studies in International Business Management.

One application round with two deadlines will be arranged this spring. The first application period (9–24 January 2018) was for submitting applications for foreign-language programmes, and the second application period (14–28 March 2018) is for programmes offered in Finnish and certain programmes offered in English.
